The Lord showed me a sewing kit…
I looked in my purse the other day and the Lord highlighted a beautiful little embroidered sewing kit that a tenant gave me when they learned I was leaving that company for a new job. She was the sweetest elderly lady. As I pondered this precious sewing kit in my hand, the Spirit began speaking to me.
You know how that lady was ‘rough around the edges”, the Spirit asked? My memory went right back to the times I had the opportunity to chat with her. She was kind of a diamond in the rough so to speak. Didn’t care much about what she wore. Didn’t shower as often as might have been more pleasing to my nose. She had a raspy growly kind of voice that you would expect from a decades long smoker. But her eyes! Her eyes were always bright and happy. She always had that little glint in her eyes that made you wonder what she was up to!
Then the Spirit showed me the beauty of this little purse sewing kit she made me. The beauty and delicate handiwork of her hand was amazing! And it was such a thoughtful and well thought out gift. But from looking at her outward appearance, one would have no idea of the absolute beauty she was capable of.
The Spirit began speaking to me about how often we view ourselves as ‘less than’ and ‘not good enough’ to accomplish what the Lord called us to do. We think, well Lord - you got that wrong! Have you met me? We see ourselves as incapable, and we are pretty sure the world would agree. But here is the beautiful part. God doesn’t see us the way we do. In fact, He also doesn’t focus on who we are in the past or present. You see, God knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). He sees us as how He Created us to be! He also sees the beautiful talent and calling he created JUST FOR US! Much like the beautiful handiwork created by my past tenant, we hold so much more compacity to DO what God created us to accomplish. If we would just surrender the image of who we think we are and embrace the identity God created for us!
Imagine if Christians were able to walk out their destiny without being hindered with the lies that are holding them back! WOW!

Take a moment and ask Holy Spirit, “Is there a lie I’m believing about myself”?
If you hear a lie, say, “I break agreement with the lie that ____________ right now in Jesus’ Name! I thank you Holy Spirit for showing me it’s a lie. Holy Spirit, what is the truth about me?
Now speak out that truth by saying, “Thank you Holy Spirit for showing me the lie that __________, and I declare the truth that ________________is how you see me. Holy Spirit, you have spoken to me right now in Jesus’ Name that you see me as __________________, In Jesus’ Name I put on that new identity of how you see me and I break off the old image and command any spirit that this lie has allowed access to me and my life in the mighty name of Jesus to leave immediately and permanently. AMEN!
